Here's a link to the job posting for ZUMIX's new Vista position - to help us with our anticipated transition from an online to a broadcast (LPFM) station:

One of the most disturbing things we have learned in the current round of applications, is that the site is populated with several person posing as engineers or applicants, who are imposters.  These imposters are employees of commercial radio stations seeking information they can use to help defeat your application.  So do not assume the people on this site are who they say they are, particularly some of this listed as engineers.

Congratulations your application for a low power FM station (form 318) has been accepted for filing! Now what? There might still be some bumps on the road, but Prometheus can help you through this journey.

I have a question:  I'm working on an app for someone.  A channel is available but it's listed as a receive frequency (co-channel)  for a translator that is still just an application.  This translaotor is just 8 km from our proposed site, but is not in the "key hole" direction this translator would be receiving in.

Now this translator lists a primary station that I seriously doubt could be received over the air.  (The primary is like 130 miles away) but nonetheless it's the listed primary.

    I asked this question:

I conducted a channel search at my proposed location ( 39.456874, 94.237864 ). REC says 105.7 is fully spaced and available, however it does offer a note about spacing from a third adjacent channel. The FCC search and RFree searchs did not show 105.7 as an available frequency at this location.

I got this response (THANKS KEITH!):

I asked Michi over at REC Networks (aka myLPFM) this question since it was not obvious to me and as usual, it was obvious to Michi :-)

What would cause this discrepancy? Is the 3rd adjacent channel spacing the issue?

I just got here and, sadly, it's pretty quiet.

I have the radio background and expertise, but do not have a non-profit organization or the business wherewithall to do this.,  I'd love to find some others who can pool our talents and do something here.

I'm in north west Broward County, so not looking at Miami, per se...

    Anyone want to talk?
